Looking Glass Rock, Porter Center at Brevard College, and more

Water over the dam, Cascade Lake, DuPont Forest

The Blue Ridge Brass, under the direction of Steve Lawlis,
rehearsing at Porter Center

A spectacular day on the Blue Ridge Parkway, South of Asheville
Mount Pisgah on the left, and just below the center peak, the Pisgah Inn

Looking Glass Rock
About a three hour hike brings you to the bare face on the right, and perhaps a
500 foot drop off.  Not for one afraid of heights.

Looking directly at the face from the West.
The hike up can generally guarantee a sight of a Pileated Woodpecker,
what the mountain people call the "God-a-mighty!" bird.

This is called "Devil's Courthouse" which is derived from a legend that the Indian's form of the
devil held court on top.  The view is one of the best on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and
the hike to the top is steep, but only takes about 20 minutes.

This is the top of High Falls, in DuPont Forest

And this is the covered bridge, where the above shot was taken

This is Twin Falls in DuPont Forest, about 5 minutes from
Don's house
