Since I am constantly accused of taking photos of only birds, insects, etc, I include in this blog a few photos of my two year old grandchild, Alex, son of Sheryl and Scott Wauchope, taken this am during babysitting.  And of course, one insect, found outside my front porch.

Up at 5:00 to drive to Plum Island, and a found a great shot of a Blackpoll Warbler, as well as a Yellowthroat.  The Redstart and the Kingbird were as I was driving out of the park, and the frog and Pink Ladyslipper were at my sister Barbara's in Lee, New Hampshire.  What a great day!  And Barbara's brownie.....Don't forget to double click the images to enlarge them.

This Saturday and Sunday, I performed with the Westerly Chorus, Westerly, RI, and it was both exhilarating and sad because it was George "Bunky" Kent's last performance of a classical concert with the chorus, a chorus he founded 53(!) years ago.  I've played with him roughly 50 of those years, and it has always been a pleasure.  The chorus has the highest of standards, the repertoir was the same standard, and he ended his tenure by doing probably the piece that might have lead him to form the chorus to begin with, the Brahms "German Requiem".  Is there anything comperable to performing such a masterpiece, with the best possible standards of performance, and with a conductor who reveres and adores the work?  It was a very special priveledge.  George has a pops concert in June, and that will be his final gig.  As they said to him in a presentation at the end of the second concert of the requiem, he has touched the lives of literally thousands of people, and it has been a very special event always, playing for him.

Susan went down and we stayed at Mary B Cool's house, God bless her, and I took her on a lovely bird walk at Barn Island, where I took the pictures of the Yellow Warbler, Yellowthroat, and Great White.

Double Click a picture. What a wonderful day!  the "Jackson, Jack and Lindy" Team raised $26,603. dollars (the highest amount for a family team in the state) for the 2012 March of Dimes "Walk for Babies", and the pictures show the walk from the Hatch Shell to the MIT Bridge.  The most perfect weather we've ever had, and Susan and I both walked (almost), the entire walk.

So I went back to the Daniel Webster Bird Sanctuary this AM, a bright and lglorious day, as opposed to last week, and found the Green Heron, and a few others, to photograph in decent light, and also got some good shots of a Black and White Warbler.  I was told of a Blackburnian, but my battery died in the camera, and I didn't find it. But here they are. Baltimore Oriole, Yellow Warbler, Tree Swallow, Green Heron, Black and White Warbler, Catbird, White-throated Sparrow, all from this AM.
