Fall at Plum Island

Wonderful collection of Fall migrants still flowing through.  No place to really get very close, and the light was going fast.  The walk on the boardwalk was very relaxing, and I practiced my horn on the Pines trail, absolutely by my self.  I wish it were an hour closer!

And in case you didn't see this one, this is Ken Wenzel, an old friend and colleague.  We played many gigs together in
theatres and concerts.  He is legendary as a jazz musician who plays bass, guitar, keyboard, trombone, flute,
almost everything brilliantly.  He has a regular gig at "Martini's" a restaurant in Plymouth, every Tuesday night.

And if you missed this, a further celebration of my 75th, and 50th Anniversary at Oak Point.

Rigo at New England Dragway

On the hottest day in September I can remember, and under a merciless sun, we gathered at the New England Dragway in Epping, NH, to watch Rigo redeem his gift certificate to drive a dragster.  It was one of the loudest things I have ever taken part in, but it was incredible fun.  Here are some photos.

And here comes Brian and Rigo

We thought Rigo would be racing around 12:30 PM, but it wasn't until 2:00.

Rigo getting suited up.  There were a number of Camaros being used as well.

Last group shot before the drag race.
Rigo did four trips down the track, once 1/3 of the track, once 1/2, and
then finally two full runs.  There would be a brief gunning of the engine and spinning of the tires
to warm them up (better traction), a pause, yellow, yellow, yellow, green, and off down the track.
The best speed allowed (because of the heat)(the engines have rev controls) was 142 mph.

Rigo ready to roll!

Rigo after his fourth run.  I didn't get to talk to him afterwords, but according to
Cheryl, his firs words were "Wow!"

September, Marshall and Marilyn

It seems that my 75th celebration continues.  We had a great family get-together , and then Marshall, Susan's brother, and his wife Marilyn arrived for a week.  Great fun.
These are scattered in order, so forgive me for that, but enjoy.
