Birds and Flowers

Slowly but surely I am getting better at the birds.  the wren was on the front porch (he's built a nest in one of the hanging flower baskets), and the hummer was at a friend's feeder.  the lilys are all in the back yard around the deck.  thank you, Lord.

Joy Club to Boston.

wonderful trip planned by Susan, and almost perfectly executed, alto some were left behind when the Harbor Express cancelled the 11:30 Ferry. and only those that were there before 11,could catch that ferry.  But the others made it in later, and lunch at Oceania at the Marriot was universally praised.  Susan and I and David and Joan Conkling walked around the North end, doing St. Joseph's, Old North Church, Cops Burial Ground, geloti, etc. for desert, and back to the ferry.  The pictures are all from the afternoon.

Fishing in Newburyport

My oldes son, Ken, my younger son Scott, and my two grandchildren by Ken, Jackson (8) and Oliver (6) went out of Newburyport on a fishing trip for half a day, and caught about 10 Mackeral.   It was a wonderful day, cool on the water, and simply a great time.   I enclose pictures. Thank you, Ken, for arranging it for a belated father's day gift.  (I gave the Mackeral away tp a ;arge family planning a big fish fry, they had caught about 40 or so!)

Trip to Brevard

What a fabulous time I had in Brevard.   I had an early sunrise at Pounding Mill Overlook, where my parent, Laurie and Doug, had their ashes spread, saw a wonderful ceremony of unveiling my mother's plaque at Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church, visited Devil's Courthouse, had breakfast at the Pisgah Inn with Tom English (who was there at 6:00 AM to see the sunrise!!), sung in Don and Mary's choir at Etowah Presbyterian Church,  two great parties at Don's house, visited Courthouse Creek Falls,

and stayed at Tim Bryson and Sylvia Villareal's house in Brevard, got fed some wonderful pesto, and got a superb photo of Brevard's white Squirre. A great three days.   See photos
