M.C.Escher exhibit and the Currier Gallery of Art.

Susan and I decided to drive to Manchester, N.H. to see the MC Escher exhibit at the Currier Gallery of Art.  It was a very exciting day, first of all because of Escher (and especially the art of his I had not seen, including much earlier works from the 20's and 30's, ) but also just enjoying a jewel of a museum, with a wonderful collection of almost every genre.  I took many photos (including some clandestine Escher) and the only dent in our enjoyment was the Columbus day week end traffic; it took us an hour and 20 minutes to drive up (this was Friday the 10th), and three hours to drive home.  We saw the results of 4 serious accidents.
At any rate, here are my  pictures.

This is our friends, David and Doris Small, from Oak Point, attending the Oak Point Golf League banquet.

And here is Susan at the wonderful restaurant at the Currier Gallery

The next five were photographed in the Escher exhibition (I Phone)

"Puddle"  (1952)

"Still Life with Mirror" (1934)

"Still Life and Street"  (1937)

"Order and Chaos  (Contrast) "  1950

"Tetrahedral Planetoid" (1954)

All the next photos were taken with a Mini I Pad.  It seems to me I have taken some of these before, for a previous blog, but the art is worth another look.  If nothing else, it should greatly encourage you to visit the museum.

Although the camera's distortion is obvious, the detail shows his complete mastery of technique.
(There is a self-portrait of Aponovich, and it would be hard to think of a portrait of a more arrogant face; Is this the way he sees himself?  But with talent like this.....
