Alex and Carter, fire engine and South Shore Model Train Museum

Wow, what a day.  Two and four-year-olds are incredibly easy to entertain, but Susan and I outdid ourselves today.  I had heard about a model train club with a huge set-up in Hingham that would, on very rare occasion, open up their display to the public, and that is just what we saw today.  I don't believe I have ever seen Alex so excited.  It was a work in progress, but what a fantastic job they have done so far.  This is the work of obsessed fanatics who know exactly what they are doing and how to achieve it.  The detail, the creativity, all were just wonderful.  Here is the day.

We're off!

Coming into Bare Cove, before the train museum, the Hingham Fire Engine Museum!

The bell was very very loud.

And into the model train museum.  This train was hauling circus wagons.

Most of the sights were pretty high (not necessarily child-friendly) but we did our best.

The batmobile!

This may give you an idea of the magnitude of what they are planning.

A painted background, very well done.

How about the dude and the babe in the boat?

One huge train was carrying dozens of construction vehicles.

Back to Hanson for a chance at a playground, but they both fell asleep!
On to  Carol and Riggo's for dinner.

"Mine, mine, mine!

"You mean......they're not mine?"

At the Mazzolis for Pizza to end a wonderful day
