Trillium Erectum

Trillium Grandiflorum

Log cabin at Cradle of Forestry

Moores Cove Falls

Showy Orchis

Pokeweed

Leucothea

May Apple

Wild Iris

What a phenominal hike! I drove up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, had breakfast at the Pisgan Inn, and because there was absolutely no view because of the clouds, decided to hike to Moores Cove Falls.  What a revelation!  I had forgotten that this was THE time to see the wildflowers in the woods, and there were Trillium everywhere. Added to the pleasure of that was the huge amount of water coming over the falls.
The concert at Mars Hill college was, musically, a great success (very small audience), and the Mars Hill Fanfare, the Saint-Saens arr. and the Zarathustra arr.  were all very satisfactory.  Special thanks to Don, who put it all together.
