AZ6 Exploring South of Tucson

A wonderful area full of worthwhile sights.
These are Sonoran Pronghorn Antelope
They are a subspecies which dropped to just 20  individuals.  Through protection, they have
rebounded to 200, and it a fortunate individual who gets to see them!
They are the fastest animal in the Western hemisphere, and can run at
40 miles an hour for over an hour

This is in the town of Tubac, which has become an artist's colony.

Art in the little town Art Museum

I thought Barbara would particularly like this!

One of the local stores

And a local art gallery

Further South, the Tumacacori Mission,
founded in 1691, and the present church constructed in 1800.
Now protected by the National Park Service

Vandalized for over 60 years, stripped of all its treasures, statuary, etc.
