Cusco to Amazonia Lodge

The fifth day found my meeting with three members of the group birding together, after which we rode in a van for for most of the day up into the Andes, and down into the Manu area.  Birding along the way, then a short first trip by canoe, overnight at Amazonia Lodge, where we met the other five members of the Manu birding group, up the next morning for some birding, and then off on a much longer trip by canoe down the Madre de Dios River to finally arrive at Manu wildlife center. Some fantastic birding along the way, aided fantastically by Nicola Wells and Pieter Very from South Africa, and Jean-Francois Bourhis from France.
The van ride, while interminable, did have some magnificent moments
