Cape Cod Railway with Alex

A trip on the "Cape Cod Central Railroad" with grandson Alex, who lives for trains.
The trip left Hyannis, travelled west paralleling 6A, and then south along the canal, and then returned the same way.  Beautiful views, smooth ride, nice narration.  Overly expensive for the time involved, but worth doing once, for Alex's sake.

"Jaws" on Martha's Vinyard

What an interesting day!  I took an 8:00 AM ferry out of Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard where I performed John Williams' music for the film "Jaws" while the film was screened for a large out-door audience.  I got back home at 1:00 AM beyond exhaustion, but I had quite an experience.

This Osprey nest was high up on a pole right next to the field

They peeped and squawked throughout the performance!

A bus load of musicians headed for the stage

the "venue"
Everything about the production was first class, from the huge LED screens (three of them) to the
air-conditioned changing rooms, toilets, and tents with sofas and tables for relaxing.
I had dinner at the famous "Black Dog" tavern

Back-stage stuff

There were two monster screens, one on each side of the stage.  They showed close-ups of the
orchestra, conductor, etc.

The back of the screens. Each was a huge composite of smaller LED screens, all synched together by computer.

Family on the Cape, a few birds.

What a wonderful time this past week.  I performed a recital in Hyannis with my good friend Roy Campbell, and My sister Barbara and husband Bill, Bill's daughter and husband Jeff, and their children Leah and Sam, all came to the concert, the most relatives I think I have ever had in a recital.
Then Don and I stayed in a motel in Orleans, to visit all of the above who were camping out in Nickerson State Park.
A few pictures from that time, and a few birds taken this morning's birding.

This is from one of Carter's birthday celebrations.
