This morning I drove to Duxbury Beach in hopes of getting a better photo of a Snowy Owl, but only saw one from a great distance. Beautiful sunrise, 4 degrees cold (wind chill must have been 10 below), and as I was leaving, a flock of Snow Buntings landed right beside the car, the closest I have been to these really lovely birds.

I was driving on the Duxbury Beach road, and came upon four Buntings, and I
stopped, they stayed, and then suddenly there was about 40 of them, all within 10 feet of the car.
And in great light, which is a gift. |
