Christmas, New Year

Various activities during the past two weeks. We had dinner and Christmas at Ken, Erin, Jackson and Oliver, we had dinner and Christmas with Scott, Cheryl Alex and Carter, we had a luncheon for our new neighbors, the Connelly's, I played my annual solo trombone for Second Parish in Hingham, we saw the new year in with close friends, and Susan and I took our first walk on New Years Day.
And tomorrow I am up at 5 to do my first briding in 2017.

Steampunk at the Fuller

I have always been extremely fond of this wonderful museum, with its great location in the park, the really pleasing architecture, and of course, its really creative and inquiring curating. The "Steampunk" exhibition, with artists getting their inspiration from Brockton's vanished shoe industry, is magical, a tour-de-force of metal, plastic, gears, tubing, and found stuff.
Here are a few pictures from the exhibit. The six objects at the start, not identified, are from the expanded area of the museum store at the entrance which are on sale. The exhibit work is identified.

The next three objects are part of the permanent collection, not part of the

Steampunk exhibit, obviously. But I do admire them.

Jackson and Oliver

I did not get a lot of photos of Jackson this visit because while Oliver and I took off a lot, he had a huge homework project he had to sit down to do. To his great credit, he really applied himself, and he must have put in 6 hours in two days working on the project.
So here are a few shots of both boys.

JFK Library with Jackson and Oliver

Susan and I had our older grandchildren, Jackson, 13, and Oliver, 11 for three days, and one of our trips together was to the JFK Library. We were headed for the MIT Museum, got stuck in un-moving traffic for 30 minutes, and I, at a whim, turned off and went to the JFK instead. And what a wonderful museum and library, fascinating to all of us. Here are some pics.
