Despite the forecast of heavy fog and cloud, I drove down to Duxbury Beach, and it was as foggy as I have seen it, but I had a great morning, and captured some photos I was very proud of.  Especially after going to Daniel Webster and having a Green Heron really show off for me.   Heres is the best (of 13 Gigs of photos!)

Saturday night, Oak Point Club House was the scene of a fund-raiser for scholarships for Middleboro students, and it was an incredible success. Not only did 200 guests show, but the efforts of the "Mademoiselle" competition (bills stuffed in garters, etc) raised the final goal to over $4.000. I offer you a few pictures of the contestants (the winner, by-the-way, was Mr. Muckey, our fetching (?) cowgirl.

My wife went out on the back deck to eat lunch, and, wonder of wonders, we had a Ovenbird wander into the yard right under out noses. He walked out into the open, flew back into the underbrush, and then walked out for a second time.  I've only had the opportunity to photograph one once before.  And in my back yard!
Here is the Ovenbird, plus a few shots from the past several weeks.

While I have been recovering from hip revision, I did some photography among the daisies in the back yard.  I have this wonderful macro lens which does a 1x1 magnification, and here are some of the results. The size of these insects can be told by the fact that most of the daisy centers are about one inch across.

I think he is calles a sweat bee, about the size of this B.

This is one ugly fly, about the size of a large grape
