This trip represents probably 50 years of taking Susan, and then Ken and Scott, and then Jackson and Oliver, and now finally Alex and Carter, all to visit Battleship Cove and see the spectacular collection of PT boats, the submarine USS "Lionfish", the destroyer USS "Joseph P. Kennedy", the Russian-built East German "Hiddensee", a cold war missile cruiser(!!), and the USS "Massachusetts" (who fired the first, and last, 16" shell during WWII.
It is such a great sight, and most of the ships are World Heritage icons. Curiously, I was talking to the young lady selling tickets, and she said the "Hiddensee" is controversial, that there are some who don't want it there with the US ships. I, of course, consider it one of the great historic sights there (there are still missiles in the launch tubes!), and it is remarkable to see all of the Russian writing on all the controls, translated into English for the young American sailors who brought her back.
If you come to MA, I will take any one there to see this great museum.

I've photographed this same scene with all mentioned above.
What a beautiful day we had, cool, bright, low humidity.

Of course, we visited the gift shop, and after visiting ships all day, the
boys opted for tanks.
