Out for a drive to find some foliage (just ok) we stopped by the Fuller Craft Museum to see what exhibits were on display. The Fuller is a hit-or-miss in that sometimes the main exhibition can be not something you particularly care for (as in this visit), but sometimes you find the most wonderful displays you were not expecting. In this visit it was a selection of mosaics, some of which were simply small masterpieces.
Here is a photo collection of our visit.
First up, a selection from an exhibit devoted to croquet mallets and balls as envisioned by a handful of woodworkers. Here are my favorites..

This was an installation of a large portion of the museum by Amy Genser, called "Shifting"
An enormous amount of hard (and I imagine very tedious work) went into this. |
And now, the most enticing and enchanting part of the visit. All of these mosaics were done with extremely tiny stones, jewels, etc., and many were simply spectacular. Most were about two feet square. |

Anina Major Plait # 00205042021 Stonewear, sea glass, and lusters |
And, finally the main event, a very contemporary kind of hodge podge of
his latest endeavors. Jewelry, fashion, constructions.
I wasn't very taken by much of it but I did like these two very large well pieces,
about 4 feet square.

I think I was drawn to this because it is such a good illustration
of driving in Massachusetts these days. Especially on Rt. 24.
As always, I encourage you to visit the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton,
a small absolute jewel of a museum in a beautiful environment.
