Red-breasted Nuthatches at Barbara's in New Hampshire

During our weekly zoom meeting between siblings, Barbara announced that she had an influx of many Red-breasted Nuthatches in her yard, a bird I have only seen perhaps five times.  So I arose at 5 AM and jumped in the car and drove up to New Hampshire, and was rewarded with many sightings, and a few decent photos.  And, the  foliage was sublime. And a great  plus was visiting with Barbara, Bill and Karl and enjoying Barbara's fall garden, worth the trip in itself.

And here he is, visiting the gutters on Barbara's house (bugs, maybe?)

There must have been a dozen flying around in the woods near the house.

Shasta Vibernum

And a Yellow-rumped Warbler flying through!

Beauty Berry

Sourwood Tree

"Doris Day" Rose

Sourwood Tree (Babara's particular favorite)

Japanese Rhododendron

My kind of guy

And as I was walking out to the car to leave, this beauty was sitting in the driveway!
