Jackson and Oliver at the deCordova Museum sculpture garden

What a gift to have two grandsons, Jackson (17) and Oliver (15) who love to go to museums with their Granpa!  I stayed with them for two nights while Ken and Erin went off to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.  Oliver again cooked a fabulous meal for Jackson and I, and both boys were a pleasure to stay with.  And then we visited the DeCordova Sculpture Garden.

Of course, I went out to Plum Island birding, with some success.
Here is a Yellow-shafted Flicker

All the low shrubs were in full color

Yellowlegs back at Plum Island

This was a delight.  Long thin metal limbs that rotated gracefully in the wind.
Whether they needed oiling or were meant to, they moaned and sang in the wind like whales.

A wonderful visit, and the boys seemed delighted.
