AZ5 Touring Tucson with Halletts

Thanks to Winn and Jane, we got a resident's view of Tucson.
There is a lot to see, as you will see below.
Thank you, Winn and Jane.
Outside the Botanical Garden

St. Augustine Cathedral

Old Town Artisans shops

Tucson City Hall

The view from "A" Mountain

With Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp

Historic Train Station

Mission San Xavier del Bac
The "White Dove of the Desert"

This is not to be missed.

And, ironically enough, we follow the mission with the museum below.

Titan Missile Museum
Also not to be missed.

The Titan II was the largest ICBM ever deployed by the US.
It stands 103 feet tall, and weights 330,000 pounds
It carried a W53 warhead, nine megatons.
The Titan II had a launch time of 53 seconds, as compared to its
predecessor, the Titan I which took 15 minutes.

This shows you the rebar-reinforced concrete wall thickness.

The nuclear warhead on a Titan II carried three times the explosive power of ALL
the bombs dropped during WWII, including the two nukes that were dropped.
The docent explained that we gave the soviets full knowledge about these sites in order to
let them know our capability to retaliate any Soviet launch.
Are those times returning?
