After taking Jackson to Plum Island, we went to Salem to the Peabody Essex Museum to see the exhibition entitled "Asia in Amsterdam: the Culture of Luxury in the Golden Age". Now you might wonder what I was thinking, taking a 13-year-old to such an exhibit, but he indulged me, and really enjoyed it (indeed he did, but not as much as the science hands-on later). But the PEM has done it again, once more proving itself a world-class museum, with a stunning and extensive exhibit well worth the visit from anyone interested in Asian luxury articles and Dutch Art.
