Black-and-White Warbler

On my way to rehearse (Atlantic Sym. Orch.) I stopped in at Wompatuck State Park, and as soon as I got out of the car, this little beauty showed off for me.  One of our earliest Warbler arrivals.

Granchildren adventures

I picked up Jackson and Oliver up from Ken in Boston and we drove over to the Harvard Natural History Museum (finding a meter right in front!!).  After two hours there, we drove to Granite Links restaurant for lunch, and then off to the movies, to see "Zootopia" , and stop at Oliver Mills park in Middleboro, then home.  Thursday AM to Winslow Farms Animal Rescue Shelter, where we met with Scott, Cheryl, Alex and Carter, lunch at 99, then a quick stop at the Trailside Museum in Milton before back to meeting with Ken.  Very exhausting, a lot of fun, the boys were mostly splendid.

Evolution proved!

Oliver believes this is as close as I will get to seeing a Great Grey Owl.

Peabody Essex Museum eshibition: "Asia in Amsterdam"

After taking Jackson to Plum Island, we went to Salem to the Peabody Essex Museum to see the exhibition entitled "Asia in Amsterdam: the Culture of Luxury in the Golden Age".  Now you might wonder what I was thinking, taking a 13-year-old to such an exhibit, but he indulged me, and really enjoyed it (indeed he did, but not as much as the science hands-on later).  But the PEM has done it again, once more proving itself a world-class museum, with a stunning and extensive exhibit well worth the visit from anyone interested in Asian luxury articles and Dutch Art.

His only complaint was that I tried to take a picture of nearly everything.

Plum Island, two mornings

I visited Plum Island on Thursday AM and Friday (with my grandson, Jackson, who always seems to bring me good luck!) and the resulting pictures follow.  Rain on Thursday, brilliant sunshine on Friday.
